Rumor: Stuart Price to direct Pet Shop Boys upcoming tour?

The news are starting to spread all over the Internet. Stuart Price may be the director of the upcoming tour that the Pet Shop Boys are going to make around the world.

I will be personally attending the concert in Barcelona on July 7th, so we'll see if Stuarts shows up or stays in the background.

Anyway, if this rumors are true, we're sure it will be a stunning collaboration.

Zoot Woman's new album delayed?

As you may know, Zoot Woman's long awaited new album, Things Are What They Used To Be, was supposed to be released this month.

On their Myspace, it was listed to the 1st of April (it was announced for this month, no date confirmed). But a few days ago they changed that date to August 7th. So we are not sure if they are confirming a delay on the release (which we don't know if it will be digital or physical), but we have a little clue.

We'll keep you informed!

The Killers - Four Winds

The Killers have a new single, Spaceman, and its b-side is a fantastic new track produced, again, by Stuart. The interesting part comes with the fact that Four Winds (a cover from Bright Eyes), sounds like Human Part II. As everyone noticed, Human is the only really-dance-based song on Day & Age, so this new track makes a difference!

Here you can hear The Killers' version. Remember to purchase Spaceman as a single in physical or digital version!

Keane - Better Than This (Stuart Price Mix)

Stuart Price has remixed Keane's last single: Better Than This. Using his own name as an alias (like he did with New Order's I Told You So), he has made a new version, more radio friendly and electronic. Remember that he also produced a few of the songs of their album Perfect Symmetry.

You will find the brand new remix on the following releases, on sale since last week:

7-inch
1. Better Than This (Radio Edit)
2. Better Than This (Stuart Price Remix)

Digital EP
1. Better Than This (Radio Edit)
2. Better Than This (Stuart Price Remix)
3. Better Than This (Tom Neville Remix)
4. Better Than This (Sketch Iz Dead Remix)

With the 7 inch you will have a 3D glasses to see a 3D Webcast that the band is hosting on April 2nd.

You can purchase the single from iTunes, HMV or Keane's Online Shop.

Joseph, Better You Than Me

You may remember this. It was The Killers' latest Christmas single. As you probably know, this is the third consecutive year that Brandon Flowers' band releases a Christmas song, but this time it was truly special.

Brandon and the boys reunited with Elton John and Neil Tennant, and under the production of Stuart Price. The result is a brilliant ballad, with every member giving his best. Such a melodic and epic song, that sounds so Killers and so Elton. And, of course, so Stuart!

Here you can listen to the song and watch the amazing video (made by pieces of classic christmas movies). Rememebr that you can purchase the cd-single here, it's cheap and a joy to any Stuart Price fan!

Juliet!

If you're a Stuart Price fan, you surely remember Juliet.

She released her brilliant album, Random Order, back in 2005 as an exceptional collaboration with out Thin White Duke. The result it was probably the best album of 2005 (even better that Confessions On A Dance Floor). Stuart provided a fantastic production, from the dancefloor filler singles Avalon and Ride The Pain to another less dancey, like Au or Pot Of Gold. Guitars, drums, catchy melodies, cool lyrics and, above all, Stuart's bass dominating the album.

Even if it was one of the year's best production, it didn't have the comercial success she wanted, so since then she only released a collaboration at David Guetta's last album, Pop Life, in a song called Do Something.

If you want, you can be a fan of Juliet on Facebook following this link, and make her more visible to the world. Maybe then, she can release an even better album... with Stuart, of course!

Let's remember the good old days with one of the best dance tracks ever made, Avalon:

Wrong (Thin White Duke) - Listen!

BBC Radio 1 and DJ Pete Tong had the exclusive: the brand new Thin White Duke Mix of Depeche Mode's new single, Wrong!

The mix is absolutely stunning. It's heavier than the one he did with "A Pain That I'm Used To", giving to the song an emotional feeling, even more than the original version!

Click here to access the BBC website and listen to the show, which includes other Stuart-related music like Frankmusik's Better Off as 2.

Their new single, Wrong, is released on April 6th in Europe and one day later in the USA. Let's have a look at the CD-Maxi tracklist:

Download: Starsailor - Tell Me It's Not Over [Stuart Price Radio Edit]

Some of you may know that Stuart Price remixed Starsailor's brand new single, Tell Me It's Not Over. What not so many know is that he also does the Radio Mix, which is less remix and more of a "new production".

What we found is a strange release. According to Rolling Stone magazine, Stuart teamed up with his frend Brandon Flowers from The Killers to do this version. He provides his vocals on the chorus, and the version is halfway from original production to the remix. But some chiefs on the industry didn't want it to come out, so probably the official "Radio Version" won't include Flowers' contribution.

Here you can catch the Rolling Stone article about this track history, and how they say it won't be released so, luckily, they include a download link:

The Killers - Spaceman

After their massive hit, Human, The Killers are back with another brilliant track from his Stuart-produced album, Day & Age. Spaceman merges the best from Stuart and from themselves: in fact, it is less dancier than Human, and has a truly "band" sound, but it still being a perfect pop song. Lots of harmonies and melodies, and a huge chorus.

The image at the left belongs to the promo cd sent to radios, including drummer Ronnie Vanucci's cover. The real and commercial cover will include Brandon Flowers' image, which you can catch here:

Spaceman was the first song we knew after the amazing Human, and it was well received by their fans, which were a bit scared that the whole album would have the electronic beats of Human.

The music video, released a few weeks ago, is like psychodelic dream, including lots of people dancing and dressed like carnival on an open structure. It starts with Brandon coming out from something like an egg and dressed like some kind of superhero.

You can see it here:

There is still no tracklist confirmed, or even mixes, but it would be amazing if Stuart did something truly electronic with this track. The Picture Disc version will include a fan-loved b-side: Tidal Wave, an organic ballad with ambient sounds and very emotional.

As a curious fact, you can download and play this song on the Rock Band series, for PlayStation3 and Xbox 360.

The first time we heard this track it was live, and here you can catch this amazing performance:

FrankMusik - Complete Me [Preview]

Frankmusik first album, Complete Me, doesn't come out until June, but here yo have a brief review of some of the songs on the album, produced with Stuart Price:

- 3 Little Words: a fantastic first single,  reworked from its original version, less noisy but with the same energy, and with even more sounds. Well, you all know it!

- Confusion Girl: Another demo reworked. Less trancey and more acoustic, mantaining the original violins, but it has evolved into an interesting electro-acoustic pop song. Brilliant.

- Better Off As Two:  His new single is another powerful dance track about broken hearts. Different harmonies, as always, a radio-friendly sound, and a really catchy chorus.

- Your Boy: What we should call a ballad, even if it's not exactly as one. It's slower, but not empty of interesting, almost out of space sounds and percussion.

- Done Done: An ambient intro introduces this experimental track, which uses Frank's voice to give color and melody to the song.

- Time Will Tell: This a ver clubby track. With a tough start, then goes into a very danceable and singable chorus. Definetely a grower.

- Complete Me: The song that gives title to the album is a growing ballad which starts with a piano and Frank's little voice and goes into some kind of orchestral explosion, with lots of electronic sounds and heavy drums. The word is "epic".

Remember that you can pre-order from Amazon his album, Complete Me, and you can purchase now his current single, 3 Little Words.

Zoot Woman

Let's recap some of the news about Zoot Woman about their new album:

  • About a year ago, they released a new single: We Won't Break. It was an intelligent point, making it their first official and free download single, via www.rcrdlbl.com. Catchier and noiser than ever, an interesting video was made to promote it:

  • An official mix was available from itunes: We Won't Break (Boris Dlugosch Les Visiteurs Remix), which you can purchase by clicking on it.
  • Later, they released a new single, free again, Live In My Head. Even stronger and powerful than WWB, it stated the new direction the band was heading to, less quiet and more dynamic. The video was a live version of the song recorded in a show in Berlin:

  • After that, they officially anounced the title of their third album, "Things Are What They Used To Be", along with the news that a new member came to join them live. It was the first female on the band, Jasmin, O'Meara.
  • Them they started a tour around the world. I personally saw them in Barcelona, last April. Here is a little clip:

  • Then, they kept touring all over the year and news about the album faded...
  • Since December! At the very end of the year, Zoot Woman put a date: April 2009, to start a new tour and to release their new album.
  • At the start of 2009, an interesting fact regarding their album was made public: they were deciding the artwork of "TAWTUTB" and joined forces with the graphic artists of Destructed Magazine, to make different views on the title. Yo can check them out here, along with a free "WWB" Remix.

So we're only a few months to go there. I'm absolutely sure that we haven't heard nothing yet, that the new tracks will be even better than the two exceptional songs they released. Because, you know, things are what they used to be!

Pet Shop Boys medley at BRITS tonight!

Tonight, the BRIT Awards will be held in London, and the main performance will be a medley of the Pet Shop Boys' greatest tracks ever, to celebrate their awards for their contribution to music.

This last ours, some forums began spreading the rumor that Stuart Price will be the responsible for this medley/performance by the boys.
Let's hope it's true, and check tonight awards to prove it! It would be a huge surprise, because the PSB are one of Stuart's favourite acts ever, as he always said in interviews, and this could mean a possible future collaboration, like a remix or some production? let's wait and see...

UPDATE: The official Pet Shop Boys website confirms the good news!

Back!

Hi to everyone!

I'm back, at last!

This past year Stuart made some very very interesting things:

- The Killers - Day & Age

Possibly the best album recorded in 2008. Full of sounds, interpretations, colours... and, of course, melodies. Each one of the tracks is a perfect story, from Human to Goodnight, Travel Well. He has also remixes the first and stunning single, Human.

- Starsailor - Tell Me It's Not Over

They had one of the best remixes ever: Four to the Floor. Now, they are back with a new album and a new song, "Tell Me It's Not Over". He is remixing it and preparing the single version.

- Keane - Perfect Symmetry

"Again and Again" and "Black Burning Heart" were the songs that Stuart put his touch on. The sound was not very muy different from the other tracks of the band, so you can barely see Stuart's work. Also, he gave some boost to the single version of "Spiralling".

- Innerpartysystem

Stuart worked on four tracks with them: "New Poetry", "Last Night in Brooklyn", "Obsession" and "Structure".

- Madonna - Miles Away

If you think Madonna would forget about Stuart, you're wrong! She asked him to remix his (by the moment) final single from her Hard Candy album, "Miles Away". The result is a fantastic Thin White Duke remix, as always.

- Frankmusik - Complete Me

One of the most important projects in 2009. Frankmusik releases his first album, and Stuart is doing some of the production. The first single, "3 Little Words" is a huge dance song, and we can see how well pair the sound of Frank and Stuart's together. In June we will see if the whole album it's worth it.

- Coldplay - Viva La Vida

Another of Stuart's musical friends, Coldplay, asked him to be the only one to remix their massive hit "Viva La Vida". Stuart delivered a brilliant version of the song, mantaining the epic melody and adding some impressiv explosions. It was offered free by the abnd on their website.

- The Killers, Elton John & Neil Tennant - Joseph, Better You Than Me

Three of the most important pop acts ever reunited to make a Christmas song. Stuart produced a year ago The Killers' Don't Shoot Me Santa, and this time they teamed up with the one and only Elton John and Neil Tennant from th Pet Shop Boys. The result is a huge rock ballad.
